Phone consult for LDN

Has anyone had a phone consult for LDN?  How did it go.  Feel funny using a doc I've never seen.  I got a name from Skip's Pharmacy.  I'm about to send out my paperwork and book an appointment.

Also is blanced almond meal a no no if you have blood? 

Dropped to 30mg of Prednisone today.  Yesterday one bm with no detectable blood.  This morning was formed stool with small amts of red blood on  it.  NOthing really on tp.  Anyone taper with blood and not get worse?  I'm nervous because I'm only doing SCD and supplements.  No other drugs.  I'm putting my hope in LDN.  GI is going to call soon with my lab results on if I'm ok to do 6mp and I really really don't want to :(

Blanched almond meal depends on your colon. Are you OK with fiber? usually it's a couple of months before a wounded colon will be healed enough for nuts and almond meal baked goods. Start with small amounts and don't overdo with other fiber at the same time.

Blood is also very individual. If it were me I'd want no blood before adding too much fiber into daily diet. Mesalamine enemas can really help eliminate blood with virtually no side effects (unless you're mesalamine intolerant).

Don't worry about the phone consult with the LDN prescribing doctor.

I know he's very good, and I believe boxermom2 also used him and she seemed quite happy with him.

I understand your reticence with going on 6mp - I was in the exact same place and did not want to go on any of the biologics my GI was pushing (that's what all the doctors are: drug pushers), so I did the LDN.

When is your consult with him?

Thanks.  I think I shouldn't have intro's the almond meal yet.  It's funny the first 2 days I actually saw a little improvement so I kept eating them.  Today was worse.  I'm going to take it back out again.  So sick of seeing blood.  Since mid July I've had 2 bms where I saw no blood.  All the rest have it.  I'm so frustrated that the Prednisone didn't work as well this time.  I've only used it a few x.

Yes I'm sure you are right.  I sent my paperwork off yesterday and I await their phone call to tell me when my consult is.  I'm scared because my GI is having me taper on Prednisone and I'm not sure how long it will be before I get the LDN exactly.  2 days ago I had one bm that had no detectable blood in it.  I was so excited.  But it was followed by tow more (going once a day) with red blood.  I'm going to take out the almond flour I started.  I guess I should be happy that I have formed stool once a day, but I feel like I'll never get this bleeding to go away!  I had asked you in another post about illegal supplements on SCD.  What are your thoughts.  Initially my naturopath (I switched to a new one), suggested slippery elm and aloe.  Both illegal on SCD.  I try to be strict but I"m really tempted to go back to trying them.  Thank you and I hope you are feeling better today.

Did you try calling Irmat in NY?  That's how I found my local LDN doctor.

Also try calling around to some local intergrative/holistic doctors.  These are the ones who normally prescribe LDN.

Also I woudln't be weening of Pred until you're in remission.  It may take up to 6 months for the LDN to kick in. Tapering just add another variable.

With regard to SCD legal, IMO when it comes to slippery elm bar powder and VSL#3 - i know they are illegal, however i also know how critical they are, so i use them daily and wouldn't think about NOT using them.
