I haven't been on healingwell for a while, so I don't know if someone posted about
this, but I just found an article that links fusobacteria to colon cancer. You can read about
it here:
www.boston.com/Boston/dailydose/2011/10/colon-cancer-linked-bacteria-future-treatment-with-antibiotics/fGoH4agRE1wQUTf32cjV3L/index.html?camp=obinsiteFusobacteria is the bacteria targeted by the triple antibiotic therapy because it is highly correlated to IBD (most patients with IBD have an overgrowth and most healthy people do not) and because it is a known pathogen.
Now this raises and interesting point. Perhaps it is not U.C. that causes colon cancer, maybe it is a bacteria that causes both colon cancer and U.C..
My U.C. seems different now after (hopefully) killing off this bad bug. My whole family just had a horrible GI virus. We all had brutal watery diarrhea, vomiting and all that, yet I bounced back after a few days and was completely normal again. That would have never have happened before. Getting sick like that would have led to a nasty flare.
Anyways, just posting this in case anyone is trying to keep up with the latest relevant research.
