Stopped azathioprine on Thursday, lots of energy now

Azathioprine the 2nd time around just never really changed things for me. So my doctor and I agreed to stop it after having been on it for 10 months and not seeing results. The first dose I didn't take was Thursday and tonight I have a lot more energy than I have had recently. Is there a connection or just coincidence? I know it takes 3 months to get up to full levels, so can it drop really that quickly?

It doesn't make sense for you to feel so much better so quickly after stopping it because it does take a long time to build up in the system but I am not surprised that you feel more energetic. Were you getting your levels checked regularly?

Yeah, I was checked all the time. Could be other stuff going on. I know both times I've been on it I've never felt that great overall (not talking about UC at all). UC has remained the same on or off. I'm just happy today to actually have some energy which I haven't had in a long time - whatever the reason.

Were you in the theraputic range? My blood results are always up and down...

I am exhausted too. I am not sure if it is related to 6mp but I am sure it doesn't help.

Yeah, I did a Prometheus labwork too and it was perfect. I was at 150 mg.

notsosicklygirl, i also have been a zombie on 6mp. i get 10-12 hrs of sleep a night and yet i could take another nap in the day, too. it's ridiculous. i haven't worked since april due to u.c., but i can't even imagine working now being tired all the time.

bananagirl, funny you say that. Lately I've been sleeping 10 hours at night too. I tell people and they look at me like I am insane. I feel tired regardless of how many hours of sleep I get. I have these vivid deams that are so realistic, I am tired from all the activity.
