Enema Question

So I've seen on here that a lot of people use and recommend mesalazine enemas. My doctor has never even touched on this issue with me and I have never asked. All of my treatment thus-far as been in the oral, injection, or intravenous forms. From what I understand, I have never had IBD-associated inflammation in my rectum. I have moderate IBD-associated inflammation in my sigmoid colon and severe inflammation throughout the rest of the colon and up slightly into the ileum. Thus, I have a diagnosis of "indeterminate colitis". Do you think I should still bring this issue up to my doctor? How far into the colon are enema drugs able to act? I've never gotten an enema so I really have no idea. Thank you to anyone who can offer advice! :)

My path labs showed no change in the rectum and a change associated with IBD throughout the colon. I believe there is inflammation in the last part of the sigmoid, though it isn't nearly as severe as in the rest of my colon. Hmmm, so if the enemas can treat that part of the sigmoid it might be useful to ask. Thanks!
