Oh and I forgot to ask, how efficacious are these for controlling flares, when used in conjunction with the oral asacol?
I have had good success with the enemas. Last April I started using them for a flare that started in October last year. Within one week of using them daily all bleeding and mucus had stopped. I continued using them daily for four weeks total and then switched to every other night. They had kept me at two to four stools per day.
I continued to notice a sensation in my upper left colon area so I decided to invert after using the enema. I administer the enema and remain on my left side for about
three minutes. I then do a headstand for about
two minutes after which I lay down in bed on my right side trying to get the stuff to make it around the upper left corner. This appeared to have helped since I am now down to one stool a day and its been that way for about
three weeks now.
