notsosicklygirl,
When i was first diagnosed with UC, they put me on 4.8 g of Lialda. I took Lialda for ~7 months until I went to the Mayo to figure out what the heck was wrong with me. The Lialda dramatically helped my UC... HOWEVER. my dizziness, fatigue, HORRIBLE daily headaches, and recent diagnosis with LPR all fueled my desire to find some answers. I see that your signature literally describes ALL of the problems I had. Now I'm not sure if it was the same for you.. but I NEVER had fatigue, headaches, and especially this chronic soar throat LPR bologna before I started taking a mesalamine. (Also, it wouldnt have adverse effects EVERY day. most days. but some good/some bad. Not sure why it worked like that... but i honestly its just how your body metabolizes it.) So, I was switched to asacol HD. (which completely eradicated my problems/side effects taht were making me miserable.) Unforuntalely, asacol hd has done nothing for my UC, and I'm back to square one. But i just thought I would let you know that my doctor told me all of those side effects were a product of how the formulation of mesalamine reacted in my body. Perhaps this could help when you're trying to get rid of your dizziness. But the mesalamine for me for SURE means headache, and I've even experienced the same dizziness/headaches with Canasa.
I know how you feel. And i hope it gets better soon! Sleep is the only thing that ever made me feel any better... but who has time to "waste" all of the time?! Best of luck to you, and happy holidays! (yay- its finally the holidays. what a fantastic time of year.)
