Flaring - how many VSL#3 capsules?

I've got quite a few here, and would like to add them in - how many would you add to 40mg pred and 4 Lialda daily during a really bad, painful flare?

how much bacteria is in a capsule? i usually take 900 billion on a normal day but i'm cutting it down to 450 billion because i don't think i need as much anymore.

Yes I agree with Bananagirl, checkt he capsules, but at aminimum 900 billion and if you're badly flaring then if would triple that for a week at least.

DId you know you can get your GI to write script for VSL#3 DS (900 billion cultures) - which might be covered by your insurance with a small copay?

I have blue shield they don't cover vsl3 or ds. I pay out of pocket for vsl3 an take 2-4 pills a day. Bottle says take 2-8 a day depending on what doc says.
