Nightsweats and hot flashes on mesalamine?

hello folks,

I know that prednisone causes hot flashes and night sweats, but I don't know if this combination is also characteristic of those who take mesalamine? I've never taken prednisone (just on a 1.2g dose of mes) but at night times (while awake) I get hot flashes. I know my apartment is hot, but I know they are hot flashes because when I stand up to walk around it goes away. Most nights, I drench my bed in sweat, even if I'm not going through a massive flareup.

Anyone who isn't on prednisone (or any kind of steroid) experience this?

I had night sweats when flaring with or without prednisone.
This is something you need to make your doc aware of. Night sweats can mean many things and should be taken very seriously and checked out.

as far as i know night sweats are common for those who's level of inflammation is high in their bodies. could be the mesalalamine, could also be your UC flaring ?

Thank God so far I've only experience the "personal summer" when on pred. Can't wait for menopause...not.

I had night sweats before taking medications as well (before I was diagnosed with UC). They went away when I adjusted my diet to eliminate the allergens and other bad stuff that was causing me problems. The medications didn't really affect the night sweats one way or the other.
