?...Need to take 3 enemas before procedure...but

I am having a sigmoidoscopy on Monday morning.  I have never had a sigmoidoscopy.  I have had roughly 20 colonoscopies, but never a sigmoidoscopy.  The doctor's office said the only prep was 3 enemas an hour and a half before my arrival time.  The scheduler couldn't tell me anything further.

Does that mean I take all three enemas, one after the other, a few minutes before the hour and a half?  Or do I start much earlier in the morning and take the first one, wait a certain amount of time, take the second, and wait, etc...to have completed them by the hour and a half?

I am supposed to arrive on Monday morning at 9:15am.  What did you have to do to prep for a sigmoidoscopy?

I've had them in the morning and I did the enemas 15 minutes apart about. I only had to do 2 enemas. My prep sheet said to hold them in for 15 minutes but I was only able to hold them for about 30 seconds at the most. They are very hard to retain.

I have had 2 flex sigs. The first I did 2 fleet enemas an hour before the procedure 15 minutes apart. I was only able to hold them about a minute. They really cleaned me out! My 2nd flex sig I didn't have to prep at all. There were no food restrictions either time.

I just happened to have my first flex sig on friday and I too have had many colonoscopies. They had me do a drink the night before and 2 fleets the next am, however everyone else here seems to only have to do the fleets. I am super jealous!

I was told to do mine 2 hours before the first procedure and then 1 hour, but since I had to be there an hour before the procedure, I actually did it an hour earlier. I held the first one in for about 5 min and the secone one about 30 seconds.

The proceudre was very ez, doc put some gel on my bum and then stuck something up there and I felt bloated and was worried I would shart on him, but it was quickly over, maybe about 5 min. He took some biopsies but didn't feel anything, it was weird watching it happen and seeing my colon.

Thank you all for your answers!!! I think I am going to start the first one at 6am tomorrow morning to hopefully be finished with the third one and all its glory by the time I leave at 8:45am.

My doctor is having me go to the hospital to have full blown anesthesia for the sigmoidoscopy....which I'm sure is unheard of for a sigmoidoscopy. However, for my previous colonoscopies with her & other doctors, she/they have never been able to sedate me...as one-two minutes after they've given me the full dose they can, I'm awake and extremely irritated.

Yeah, it's unusual to be fully sedated for a sig but I never understood...if they are going to knock you out, why don't they just do a full scope? Some people get sedated for sigs, that is what I don't understand. I have never been sedated for a sig, just c-scopes and normally do well.
