Flare on Humira

So ive been on Humira since February and, after some other health issues unrelated to colitis, i was finally able to get things under control at the end of August. I am in college and during finals week this past semester, I had a little flare I am attesting to simply stress. I immediately went on prednisone which cleared things up pretty quickly. In the past, prior to Humira, the prednisone wasnt able to work so quickly and flares would get much worse. My GI and I discussed this and both agreed that this is the Humira doing its job. I will still flare on it but they will be much more mild and easier to control.

Any thoughts on this or people with similar stories?

well, I "flare" on Humira too- have been on it now for 2+ years, & clinically, there is still signs of inflammation & ulceration. Symptomatically, I do alright- I have bad days, but they've been farther & farther apart the past few months... cross your fingers! However, yes, I do experience some flare symptoms on a weekly basis- I still have morning urgency, once in a blue moon an accident... But overall, if things settle down for you with the use of pred, things should improve over time with the Humira.

Yea that is what I have found to be the case, even though ive only been able to experience it for a few months. I have found that no food bothers me enough to put me back into a flare but sometimes i do get more gurgly than usual and have a few more BMs than normal. Im hoping Humira will be able to last a few years for me!
