Hi tournevice,
I'm Canadian but lived in London for about
10 years. I have a friend in London with UC and she swears by St Marks (I'm pretty sure that's the big one in London for IBD but can't be 100% - someone will probably correct me). Anyway, she's had it since her teens and has studied abroad, is married, works and travels etc She's very enthusiastic about
the care she receives there. I don't know how severe your case is and maybe lewisham will be fine but in time I'd look into getting the best care on the NHS.
I'm sure you've heard of the "postcode lottery" and the NHS ? Don't settle if you're not satisfied. I believe now you can go to whichever hospital you want to seek treatment from on the NHS?
Also, look into King's college London - some of the researchers there are doing some very interesting research on IBD and you could always email them for info/advice? I would if you can't get any otherwise...
Good luck and enjoy London (I love it and I miss it)!
