Has anyone used osmoprep before? My husband has a colonoscopy Wednesday and the dr gave Hume osmo prep. I was just reading the side effects and wow... Some serious side effects so just wondering for those that did take it how did you Handel it.

Osmo prep, that is the pills yes? If so, I did those once and it wasn't bad actually. Much better than the liquid preps. But after the 30th (?) pill, it started to taste like a salt lick. lol
Since then, they have black listed (boxed?) - the one where they will only prescribe this with heavy warnings but is still available - because it can cause kidney damage/issues. If I was you (or him) I would call up the GI and ask for the Miralax/Ducolax prep instead.

I am calling the dr tomorrow although the hubby wants the 1pills so he doesn't have to drink anything I prefer him to stay out of real failure!

Not a bad idea. Of course it is up to him if he wants to continue with this prep but I would highly advise against it.

I'm due for a c-scope mid March and I told the doc I had a hard time with all the fluid for the prep.
He told me he has something that doesn't involve as much drinking and gave me SUPREP. Ingredients are : sodium sulfate, potassium sulfate, and magnesium sulfate.
Anyone else try this yet?

I did Suprep on my last colonoscopy. Your doc is right, you really don't have to drink a whole lot. They give you two small bottles that you mix with the drink of your choice but you have to drink a large amount of water. It wasn't a really bad prep but I couldn't chug down the second dose. It reminded me of fruity cough syrup. I almost threw up at the beginning of the second dose. But at the time I was already going clear so I didn't even finish the prep. I made sure that I ate light for 2 days prior so it wouldn't be so hard to get cleaned out.
