Anyone here on azathioprine? I've just been started on 50mg and they want me to go up to 150mg a day long term. Anything I should be looking out for in terms of side effect? The ones on the packet info are but then again they all are.
The hair thinning / falling out scares me the most. I'm in my 20s and have longish hair and it's pretty thick. As a man probably shouldn't care too much about
it but i love my hair. I look after it and use conditioner twice a week to keep it decent. if it started falling out I don't think I could leave the house, I'd feel naked.
Anyway, I'm down to 30mg a day of pred tomorrow. DoGing 5mg tapers a week
I'm also on 6 x 800mg asacol and 2 x 200mg Omeprazole a day. I wake up completely parched twice a night and have to get drinks. Sometimes my fingers lock when I grab stuff and I keep getting massive cramp attacks when I stretch in bed. Some of them are agonising and wake my poor partner up. All things which never happened before meds.
Sorry for the rant just wanted to get it off my chest. On the plus side I've been allowed to go back to work 2.5 days a week then back to full time in April
