colonoscopy and biopsy result ?

 I am little confused ,maybe someone has some insite.

remission is when your colon looks totally healthy like a person's without uc.Mine did two days ago through a colonoscopy.Will the biopsies show microscopic inflammation or can they be totally clear and no sign of anything.That would make me think mis diagnoses or somethink.Just very confused.

My colonoscopy was clear as were the biopsies. So as the Dr requested, I went off my meds (steroid supps at the time ) Started bleeding again and was diagnosed visually through sigmoidoscopy. So not sure what to tell you, except I don't know how exact this diagnosis is. Hope yours was a misdiagnosis and you are fine :)

If they are clear you are in full remission. If not, you're in clinical remission. In both cases you are considered in some form of remission, obviously the first is best. Some can get off meds after a while in full remission and be fine for many years, others seem to be colitis free but then get off meds and flare. Unlikely that it's a misdx unfortunately if you were dxed with scope and biopsies. But, good news is you might have a very long remission.

Idon't think I was misdiagnosed Its been 8 years since I was origanally diagnosed with proctitis. This gi implied it but I have been having bleeding on and of for 8 years and salofalk supp. help with that I just wasn't sure how it works plus i didn't get the biopsy results yet. Just confused with this disease,I was just doubting the last years scope results and biopsies saying the inflammation spread 50cm. When I told this new gi that I saw the inflammation on the screen from last year and my colon looked all white and bubbly looking she said thats not what uc looks like.Also the only meds I am taking are occasional salofalk suppos. because I am intolerent to asa's,so this remmision would be obtained naturally . the new gi said the supp. wont hurt me but I don't need to take them,I was rediagnosed as having proctosigmoiditis 50 cm last year but no change in symptoms from original diagnose of 12cm proctitis. by a different gi

I think the results could show "inactive colitis" but I have seen some people mention the biopsies showing nothing at all while they were in a long remission. I've never had nothing show, always mild inflammation, moderatoe inflammation or inactive colitis. :(
