For me i just dont eat (popcorn at movie theaters)
usually i prefer the book to the movie and im sure it will still be the same ive hurd good and bad from some people so i want to decide for my self . super excited were doing a double date thing and its new to us and im very glade we have good friends who are willing to go out alll together even if its a movie.

I thought that the book of Battle Royale was way better than either the book or movie Hunger Games. If you haven't read it, you owe it to yourself to look it up.

i really liked the books. i mean, they're no harry potter, but it was a good series haha i can't see movies right now due to my flare but i hope maybe in a month i can see it in theatres. i've been looking to watch it online and can't find it anywhere.

Sorry to hear that Bananagirl! I've been there. Had to stay home all of December, due to flare, but that wasn't so bad, as I missed all the Christmas craziness. Hope you're feeling better soon.
I read the first two books bc they were on my 11 year old's summer reading (last year) and I thought they were inappropriate for her age. I still think they're inappropriate for Middle School, but whatever... had to cave so she wouldn't be the only "looser" who hadn't read them. I couldn't read the third one however, because I found myself depressed. Too many other things in my life to get depressed about, don't need to add fuel to the fire.
I did enjoy the first book though, and the movie doesn't disappoint. I think Jennifer Lawrence is a really good actress.
When I finally did start going to the movies, I made sure we bought our tickets close to the exit, and I ALWAYS sit on the isle (drives my husband crazy, but at least I"m there). I also always carry extra undies, pads and wipes (have had to use them more than once), and I sneak in a little bag of chips to help me resist the popcorn my family gets to enjoy. Popcorn was a HUGE no-no while flaring, as well as sodas.
Enjoy the movie. Hope it lives up to your expectations!

guategirl, it seems i am always flaring during my favorite movie premieres!! haha when the last harry potter came out, i was devastated i had to wait 3 months to see it. the movie theatre near me only has one bathroom and it's so far away (only in my mind) from the screening rooms. i just wouldn't make it if i needed to go. at least when i see it, the theatre will probably be empty!

I've seen both and I prefer the book to the movie. If you go see it, don't expect the movie to be exactly like the book. That being said it was pretty good. Still think that they should have added in more detail and gone with the R rating instead of PG-13, but if they did that they would have cut out a big part of who the book was targeted towards. I'm curious as to what they are going to do with the future movies because the next two books get progressively more gruesome.
@Guategirl, wow they wanted her to read that at age 11? The Hunger Games seemed more like a high school age book.

I'm so glad the movie is doing well. I remember going to Apple.com/trailers and watching the preview among others months ago and saying to myself, "man I really wanna see that".

I think I'm going to have to see the movie. I'm usually a read the book first type of person, but for some reason I have something against reading young adult books, so I don't really want to read the series, but I've heard it's supposed to be a good movie...
I might read Battle Royale though...

My remissions are 95% of the overall time vs 5% flares. My remissions do not have urgency. I just completed one year working downtown driving from the boondocks and I never think about
it.

@ NewShiny: I know! I couldn't believe it was summer reading for my daughter :( OF COURSE she read all three books, not just the first one. I was most upset w the school for their choice (the LA teacher is a friend of mine and I gave her a piece of my mind).
When I went the theatre was 95% pre-teens and teens (5% moms). They totally went for the PG-13 rating for the $$$$!
@ Disbride: I took my 70 year old dad along and he loved it. Thoroughly enjoyed himself. Don't know how old you are, but if he liked it, I think anyone will like it. Will NOT be taking my 10 year old though.
