Some interesting information about Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments for UC.  It looks like it was very successful in treating UC patients.  Even though I'm very claustrophobic, I'd be willing to try this if I could get my insurance company to pay for it.

Very interesting- thanks for posting. i am going to ask my alternative MD PCP about this option- I wonder how long the benefit lasts i e how frequently one would have to rent some oxygen chamber time?

The case study in the 2nd link went 5 days a week for 6 weeks. He was in the chamber for 2 hours at a time. Though tt looks like his symptoms started to come back within 2 months of completing the treatments.

Thanks for posting.My daughter's actually scheduled to start this in less than two weeks. They have built them so parents can go in with kids. The recommend 20 sessions but the woman said many families opt for about 40. That's over $3500. Insurance does not cover it btw.

My PCP is an integrative doc and she suggested to me. I also hesitated because I am extremely claustrophobic too. I will read the article and consider though... Probably unaffordable for me though...

Is this the thing Michael Jackson used?

killcolitis, how often would you go (how are the 40 sessions spread out)? Would $3500 cover 40 sessions?

bw, we haven't started yet. she's supposed to start in a couple of weeks and yes that is for forty sessions I believe. A lot of money for sure and the sessions are not spread out, they're daily I think (my husband spoke to them).

Yeah, I believe Michael Jackson was rumored to have one.

$3500 is a lot of money but I'd gladly pay that amount to go into remission. Best of luck to you and your daughter. I really hope this works for her!

did you have any success with tmt? I'm thinking of trying it. Would be 3500 for 20 tmts where I live
