Reducing meds

Hi sorry for posting twice I just forget to give it a subject!
I have been in remission from Proctitus since early January. I was taking Salofalk enema 2g and Mesalazine  800 mg. 3 x twice daily. For the last 6 weeks I have been reducing  the enema's very slowly and am now using one every 5th day. 
I find every time I go that one day further, that on that day I have more BM's. All normally formed, no blood just plenty of them, so apart from getting me up at 5am no big deal!!!
 I cannot believe this is a coincidence and wonder if I should just persevere reducing albeit very slowly and start reducing the Mesalazine down to 4 a day instead of 6.
I have also been taking the probiotic  Immubrobio which has 50 billion (whatever they are supposed to have). I have found that my awful smelly wind has disappeared, not sure if it's the meds or the probiotic or if it's because since having Proctitus and taking all the meds I now go so much instead of being constipated as I always was pre Proctitus.
Any comments or advice will as always be much appreciated.

I would try working down to either rectal only every third day or 1200-1600 mg oral only as a maintenance dose. Those are the minimums in most clinical trials. Enemas has the best track record for distal maintence but isn't used as much as pills because people don't like using it. Personally I would work toward rectal only if you want to minimize drugs. Canasa might be a alternative if you hate enemas. I would just tell the doctor you want minimal drug use which is a reasonable request.
