I finally got a script for Rowasa. With insurance it cost me $65. The pharmacist told me not to complain because without insurance it costs $1295. I unfortunately have to take the name brand and not the generic because of a sensitivity. I tried the generic last year and the next morning I had really bad leg cramps. Truthfully the GI and I are not even sure if that was the cause of the leg cramps but to be safe, he switched me to the name brand.
So I used my first enema last night and today I feel really itchy. The enemas definitely work because I had no blood today and the urgency is already gone. I felt itchy last time but I'm not sure if this is due to the Rowasa or from the proctitis itself. To clarify, its itchy on the inside, not just the outside of the rectum. I don't think its hemmies because that what I thought last year and the doctor told me I had no hemmies after I had my scope.
