No, Sherry, Dr. Vermeire did not comment on that finding. She was citing statistics from about 3 different research studies, and mentioned the higher "trough" for UC patients compared to Crohn's as data that emerged when researchers analyzed those studies together. She did say that much more remains to be studied, also that less effort so far has been directed to study of UC patients using biologics than to Crohn's patients-- which, of course, is a regrettable situation. It's a good thing that she tries to get attention to the need for additional research to better help IBD patients during her "guest" lectures; my gastroenterologist does that, too. / Old Hat (31 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
