Movi-Prep, Colonoscopy and Panic attacks

Hi I'm due for a colonoscopy tomorrow, I have taken the movi-prep (icky as it was) and now it feels like Niagra falls is coming from my butt  eyes . This is my first time taking Movi prep, last time I was too young at 15 now I'm 24. What I would like to know is how long will I be going to the toilet for? Also I'm getting very sore, can anything be done for that?

I also have to take another one tomorrow morning at 8am, my appointment is at 2:30pm, will that be enough time to take the movi prep, let it do what it needs to then be able to get to the hospital without feeling the need for the toilet?

On a side note I suffer with agoraphobia so getting there is going to be a challenge on its own, I am having a sedative because of this in case I jolt and cause a mishap, to get there I normally take a calm spray and some Kalms tablet form. Can i still take those?

I still was having to go when I got to the hospital. Probably went 3-4 times before the colonoscopy but I probably would have anyway since I was going 30+ times a day anyway. If your tushie is getting sore you can put some diaper rash cream on it that helps with soreness also tucks pads have witch hazel in them (used if you have hemmies but is very soothing). I was also knocked competely out thank goodness. Hopefully the sedative will be enough for you. I would call the doctors office for advice on taking the other two things.

I don't think it would be a problem to take calming spray the day of right before you go. I always drink water the mornings of my colonscopy and that's never been a problem.

Unfortunately, the soreness just comes with going to the bathroom so much. I like putting vitamin E oil on my rectum because it's very soothing. I also love Tucks pads and the diaper cream Balmex (this stuff is AMAZING).

Thankyou for your replies ^^ I have asked my mom to get me the cream and pads so hopefully soon it wont hurt as much.

I seemed to have eased off for awhile, 'it's' gone clear and haven't needed the toilet for the last half hour, fingers crossed I've nearly finashed.

I', glad about the spray, or toilet or not, I doubt i would have managed to get there tomorrow with my panic attacks. Luckily I have a ride ^^

Hi Rakshas,

I took that for my recent scope on March 23rd. After a while of not much happening, it all came rushing forth. I actually did a split dose, first at night then in the morning. Morning wasn't so bad, there wasn't much left to get rid of.

I actually thought it was better than some of the other preps I've used in the past - this was my 3rd or 4th colonoscopy, I'm 40 now.
