Hello. Question on rectal meds?

Hey all! I have Crohn's disease, so I'm always hanging around on that forum, but my disease is the worse at my colon/rectum. The last colonoscopy(last week) showed inflammation in Stomach, TI, Cecum, Splenic Flexure, Hepatic Flexure, Sigmoid & rectum.

I've always struggled with terriable tenesmus & rectal inflammation & do you guys know of an creams/gels/suppositories to use to ease the pain & help inflammation? It seems like I'm rotating between cycles of hydrocortisone suppositories & prednisone. I haven't responded to the canasa suppositories(although I'm willing to try it again) & I've been on so many creams/gels both prescription and OTC. The pain is mostly in the rectum & perianal area. Do you guys have anything that helps you? My GI is willing to prescribe the steroid supposiories but he said he doesn't want me to do them long term because it can thin the tissues in my rectum & just increase my bleeding. Thanks!

 

We did WAY back with Minnie but I can't find the dang thread! What exactly does the meslamine enemas do? Do they just coat the colon?
