Hi,
I posted a question almost 3 weeks ago, asking for suggestions to control a mild flare. Here is an update on my situation: I have been on nightly hydrocortisone enemas for 2 weeks, now I use them every other day, alternating with mesalamine enemas. I believe I got it mostly under control, since I have one normal BM in the morning and occasionally some mucous. No urgency, no cramps. There is still some inflammation, since I see the mucous sometimes, but I really improved from the 4-5 bloody stools a day.
For those of you who are having a proctitis flare-up or are trying to control the rectal inflammation, you should give hydrocortison enemas a try. I saw improvement in two days and had no side effects (nothing like the Prednisone would cause.)
Good luck to all of you,
RT
