Back from GI

Back from the GI, I was told i had UC months ago. I was put on apriso and rowasa if i spelled that right. Anyways within 2 weeks the blood mucus ect.. all stopped i have had 0 issues sine then. i was also going like 17 times a day.

Anyways 3rd check up he said i can soon stop the rectal meds :) and see if the apriso will take care of it. Il keep using it every day til 5/20 then 1 ever other day til im down to 1 then til i stop it all. he is doing it this way cause he claims if i stop it too soon it will all just come back. so he claims if i do it this way and hopfully apriso will keep it in check :)



Also! kinda funny story

When i first had to get enemas i got the rowsas its really pricy like 1,300$ well my insurance didn't wanna pay that much again so i got the generic heres the funny part.... well least to me it is...

When i started using the generic it had lube on each and every one of them sorry its amusing i guess to me. while the rowasa that is super pricy had nothing but some wipes.... :x

In truth, the rectals should be maintained rather than tapered off completely. The Apriso probably won't help with the rectum (where your flares will start).

But, most of us have gone off the oral/rectal 5ASA meds one time or another, most of which find that they are what we need and maintenance rectals do help.

You'll eventually find what you need....but make sure you are able to call the doc and get in to see the doc or even to just phone for refills if you start to flare.

Oh, I also suggest you also add probiotics and fibre supplements to your regimen.
