The last week I've been bleeding on the toilet paper, but nothing in the stool and am otherwise having normal BM. Before it started I was constipated and have since added more fiber (oatmeal, fruits and veggies) so the BM is longer and wider, but the bleeding hasn't stopped.
I had bleeding on the paper and a bit that dropped in the toilet around late October and when I went to the doctor they put me on Rowasa. The bleeding went away, but I got worse, having to go 8+ times a day and having no form at all. When I went in again they put me on Lialda and did a signmoid, where they only saw some mild inflammation and said it looked like "we caught it early" despite the fact it had been going on more than a month. The Lialda made things even worse so I couldn't even leave the house cause I had to go so often.
The Dr said after 2 weeks I should have been better, but things continued to be bad. The Lialda said one of the side effects was the same as the colitis symptoms, so I stopped taking it in early January and within 2 days was back to normal. It looks to me like the whole thing besides the bleeding was a result of an allergy to the Rowasa and Lialda, which is why the signmoid didn't show much inflammation, despite the fact I had the worst symptoms in 10 years.
Now that I'm bleeding again I don't know what to do. I don't know if its hemorrhoids or something more serious and I don't trust the doctor anymore since they should have recognized what was going on and not ruined my life for several months. Before the bleeding in November I went for years without any symptoms or taking any medication as the doctor before I moved here said I have such a mild case I don't need to be on anything permanently. The doctor here seems obsessed with putting me on drugs even though it hurt me, so if I'm forced to go back is there a simple test for hemmeroids or other causes of bleeding besides the colitis I could have done that don't involve putting me on any medication?
