I'm a Crohn's patient and have a question regarding proctitis. Starting last November, the colorectal surgeon told me I have narrowing of the anal opening due to scarring. My GI refused to do any dilations and said all I need to do is use stool softener suppositories and Pentasa enema. Things never became better, so in February, he performed a colonoscopy and told me that the proctitis weren't that bad. Now, after suffering for a week from vomiting and nausea, I have this narrowing again. Last Sunday night, I had severe abdominal pain with severe tenesmus. I kept rushing to the toilet w/o passing anything out. I took painkillers and then called my GI the other day who told me to take Pentasa enema. Then, I saw him and he put me on steroid (budesonide) enema to ease inflammation.
Ah, forgot to mention I used to have 7+ bms/ day. Now, after taking the enema, I'm severely constipated. For 3 days now I haven't had a single bm and this is not normal for me. I too do vomit despite taking Zofran im injections 8mg and have nausea and loss of appetite.
Any advice for treating this narrowing? My GI told me that the enema would let me have bms, but I got constipation instead and I have anal fissures and hemorrhoids.
