fecal transplant help

Not sure why I'm having such a problem getting it from the doc..I did not see any at our drug store except for the small ones for contact lenses but it had all of this other stuff in it.

Trojen, I am also curious about the saline. I wonder if I could just used distilled water..what is the purpose of the saline? Maybe it just makes it easier to mix?

It's been 6 months now and I think we will continue for 3 more and then see how things are then. He is still having a bit of pain associated with gas but other than that he's been pretty good. I heard that Asacol has anti-microbial properties which may interfere with the good bacteria so if your GI agrees it may be worth stopping. I've heard of people improving after they do FTs for a few times only and then things go downhill after a few weeks or months. That's why we are doing the more long term protocol. I think you just have to be patient with this and hopefully if you stick it out it will be worth it. Good luck.

Have you tried the common OTC simethicone for the gas? I almost have to take 2 ultra-strengths daily, if I miss-I hurt. Pretty cheap and effective pain relief.
