UGH!!! FT and antibiotics..Any suggestions? Edbar..Trojen?

Hey Guys, I am on 3 mos of my FT's. I have been doing very well as I have no UC symptoms and I still can't even believe it. I still do FT's once or twice a week as the few times I tried to spread it out longer, I felt a few mild symptoms  returning.

Well...My cat bit me on the leg;(. It wasn't a bad bite, but it punctured the skin. I thought I was ok but looks like its getting a little more red. So, I got ABX. And it is augmentin which is what is used for cat bites and I don't do well with that...I was wondering if anyone could suggest how I might handle that? Should I quit for 10 days..which is so scary for me. Should I do more FT's? Continue what I'm doing?

Thanks for any opinions or advice as I am lost on this one..

pupluv, I guess there is no way to avoid abx hey? I tend to agree with kloe but I don't know how bad it is so you need to do what you think is right. If it were me I would increase doing the FTs to daily or every other day. It's a 10 day course of abx I imagine so doing an extra 5 or 6 FTs hopefully won't be too too difficult for you. If for some reason you can't increase your FT then at the very least you should take s. boulardii probiotic. Hope this help and good luck. I know you have done very well with FT thus far.

Yes I heard cat bites can be a problem. In fact the son of a friend of mine was diagnosed with Crohns 12 years ago. A week before he started seeing symptoms he was bitten by their cat right to the bone. And soon after that even the cat had serious bowel issues. Coincidence maybe. So your doctor is right to be cautious.
It could be that your gut flora is strong enough now to handle the abx. But I would still increase FT frequency or s boulardii just in case.

Well, good news..I woke up this am and so far it hasn't gotten worse so I am thinking all is ok..Whew! A bullet..diverted:)

Somedude..This is a cat I rescued out of a grocery store parking lot about a year ago. I have many dogs:), so I keep her in a room off my garage which has central heat and air..its our exercise room. She was on the verge of feral when I scooped her but she is pretty good.

She can go in and out of that room as she pleases..and me and my husband visit her a number of times everyday, so she gets attention. Well, She  started grabbing my legs when I leave the room..then it turned to grabbing and biting when i leave the room..now it is random..She just bites me when I am in there and I don't know when.

I am in animal rescue..primarily dogs..so I have never had a cat of my own..only rescue. I am not at all sure how to handle this..She does not like other cats at all..which I have to many animals so won't get one anyway and she hates my dogs and they are not fond of her as well. So, I am on the internet trying to figure out how to keep her from biting me! Sorry for the long story..any ideas;)?
