Where does all the water come from?

I am going this morning for my second colonoscopy since being diagnosed with proctitis roughly six months ago. So, last night I prepped, drinking all the miralax to clean out my system. Now let's rewind a little, I have had frequent episodes where I wake up at night, barely making it to the bathroom, and it is just total watery(I mean watery!) D!! Now, even after prepping for the procedure today, I woke up at 4 this morning with the same exact thing, except it was only watery blood pretty much. I figured I completely emptied myself with the prep. So my question is, where does all this liquid come from? I had not eat anything solid in over a day, and finished my prep at 8 last night. Do I have a freakin hole in my guts somewhere that's letting stuff in??
All I know is I hope they find something today because I don't know how much more of this I can take!!!!

The liquids are there all the time, just sometimes worse.than others. It's like my intestines are not absorbing anything.

Ditto Sherry. When your colon is inflamed, it doesn't absorb water, which is why you have diarrhea. The worse the inflammation, the more water you'll have.

Well after my colonoscopy, I was found to have severe UC affecting my entire colon and large intestine. It was far worse than the proctitis that I initially presented with. So I have since been admitted to the hospital and started on iv steroids and am also being tested to see if I can take remicade. Hopefully all these meds work and I'm not in here for too long.

Wow...good you're in the hospital at this point. I hope things get under control soon.

Just to clarify something you said...the colon is your large intestine.
