Those of you who take a lot of VSL#3, do you take it all at once or space it out throughout the day? I have the regular strength sachets and am trying to ramp up to the full recommended dose for active UC (8 sachets/day). Seems like they are helping but I'm wondering if I should continue having all of them at night after dinner or if I should start splitting it up into two or three doses per day? Thoughts?

I take my DS sachet in the morning, and sometimes a 2nd one at night.

Pluot, what are they helping you with? Gas, cramping, bloating or inflammation?

I just upped to 3 on regular capsules, they took away gas for a few months, but I'd like to up the dose to 8 as well, but then I wouldn't even have 10 days before having to go get another bottle.

Actually, can someone tell me what the recommended dosages are for sachets?

I called Costco and I'd like to go order VSL#3 DS, its $108 for 20 sachets. My insurance won't cover it. Does anyone take DS sachets and how do you split them up (dosages) ? Thanks

Pluot if you take 8 sachets a day, how many sachets comes in one order for you?

stereofidelic, I'm still in the midst of a severe flare and taking prednisone as well as 5ASAs. I have no idea what symptoms, if any, the VSL3 is helping with but they don't make me feel worse so I'm willing to roll the dice and take the recommended dose. I was lucky enough to get a large amount of samples from my GI dr so I haven't had to purchase them yet... I'm going to ask my dr about getting a rx for the DS today though, I have no idea if my insurance will pay for it or not.
