First hospital stay because of UC

It's amazing how fast this disease con progress! I was diagnosed back in Jan with mild proc***, and told there was a slim chance it would spread but likely that it would be under control shortly. Haha, wouldn't that have been nice! Since then I have been on meds ranging from mesalamines, steroids, suppositories, enemas, etc. Nothing worked, symptoms were getting much worse and finally I was sent to a specialist in Albany. He tried some new scripts and ordered a second scope to see what was going on. Well in five months it went from mild proctitis to full blown pancolitis with my entire colon in a major flare!! Excellent!! So I've been here at Albany Med since then getting iv steroids, waiting for tests to come back so they can start me on Remicade. Doctor told me to cancel my trip to Mexico next month, wasn't really happy about that but I don't want to get a case of Montezumas revenge from the remicade! Hopefully I can con them into letting me out today but we'll see. I feel really good and am having less BM's and bleeding, so finally a turn in the right direction.
