Delayed side effects from Imuran/6mp?

Has anybody been fine when they started taking Imuran or 6mp (at the full dose right from the start) and then started having side effects later on?  I've been on Imuran for exactly 2 weeks now and have started to notice some nausea during the day. I don't really have it when I take the pills but I notice it the next morning.  I am also having some serious indigestion to the point of almost throwing up in my mouth (bleh!).  Just seems like food is not digesting well.  I do get tired when taking the Imuran but I don't care much about that, it actually helps me sleep!

Not fond of the nausea and indigestion/reflux type effects though. Just curious if anybody ever had delayed side effects from this drug when they seemed fine at first.

I have been on Imuran for a couple of months me and I have noticed that sometimes I suddenly get very exhausted. I can be fine them suddenly I feel like I really have to go to bed and get some sleep. It is not every night but just every so often. I wrote it up to all those nights when I was flying high on prednisone, but maybe it is the Imuran.

I was on Imuran doing fine for about 6 weeks and then suddenly was getting horrible "indigestion" type feelings and aches that turned out to be pancreatitis. Had to stop it immediately and and then I was fine.

I have been on Imuran for 11 years nonstop.  I have had the side effects you noticed, but I never thought it was the Imuran.  I take Nexium which helps the symtoms you mentioned.  I also take Zofran for nausea, I usually always have nausea when I first get up and take meds. 

neekap - yikes!  I have my first blood test recheck (CBC and ALT) this afternoon after starting the Imuran so hopefully nothing is wrong with my pancreas.

seasons - I take the Imuran at night right after I eat dinner (so like 8pm or so).  My symptoms have been getting better, although I did alot of hard labor outside this past weekend and seemed to have flared things up a bit.  Otherwise I was doing well last week with normal BMs (1-2 a day) and really no abdominal pain or even much gas last week.  Hoping to get back to that this week soon.

I went through the same thing with Imuran. It started after I had been on it for maybe 5-6 weeks. I think it lasted about 6 weeks. A couple weeks after the nausea started, "extreme" exhaustion kicked in. The only thing I can compare it to is the first trimester of pregnancy. I was in bed by 9 every night and slept like a rock. Both gradually get better. I'm at the six month point & am fine. Fingers crossed it works for you & the side effects stay manageable.
