my pain has white coat syndrome.

jeez folks
i spent the last 13 days dealing with pain in the upper abdomen. i had a gastrocopy last monday and it looked normal..
On friday night after dinner i had unbearable pain again to the point of nausea.
my heart was racing. but again i said id stick it out till morning.
I went up in the am and was admitted. they did xrays, bloods, stool samples and urine.
I have to wait for the Gi to be back at work tomorrow.

The thing is THE PAIN HAS GONE

this has happened b4. Im 100% sure itll return but at that stage will i be made to look like an eejit thats making things up.

Im almost wishing the pain back so i dont feel so guilty.

If it were me I'd ask myself "What is different between being at home and being somewhere else" if you believe your pain is organic (body related not mind fabricated) you need to be your own detective because no one else can do it.

Perhaps your tests will show whether there is something showing up there but just because it doesn't show up doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Current tests are good but not perfect at finding underlying causes.

So...could it be environmental? Could it be related to something you ate or drank at home and didn't eat or drink when you were at hospital? Do you have stress at home that you feel relieved of at hospital? Smokers at home?

BTW "white coat syndrome" is where your heart rate and blood pressure increases in the presence of white coat. Whereas your symptoms get better. So you have "anti-white coat syndrome".

Good luck figuring it out.

thanks for that i didnt even know white coat syndrome existed. its something my dad used to say because he always felt better once he saw a doctor. lol.

no there is no difference apart from an unhealthier diet in the hospital. bread biscuits full fat everything!!!! but the pain had subsided b4 i ate or drank or was admitted.

im sure the tests wont lie and will show up something.

I did have raised amylase and i noticed my stool sample was foul smelling and oily. yukity yuk yuk.
