I've had allergies all my life. To what, I have no clue. I was blood tested once and everything showed up negative but more or less for a control (on my part) I had my doc test me for strawberries and hazelnuts in addition to the common allergens. I know for a fact that I am allergic to strawberries (I break out in a rash) and hazelnuts (makes my throat tingle and it gets hard to breath) but that came out negative as well. I think that the 6mp was throwing off the test results.

So since I started Remi back in September, my allergies have been crazy! I'm already on Zyrtec and Singulair but it doesn't seem to be doing much. I have been sneezing like crazy, itchy watery eyes, post nasal drip.

But NOW I have been dealing with sinus infections. I had one in January and then another one at the beginning of June. I have not had a sinus infection in over 15 years so to get two in a short span after starting Remi is not a coincidence.

And either I am getting another one or my allergies are in overdrive today because my sinuses are somewhat stuffed again, my right sinus is burning a little and the ole snot is increasing.

Has anyone else have an issue with sinuses while being on Remi?

I know Remi isn't Imuran, but I've had the opposite reaction lately. No allergies. But I'm the same with you though. Tests came back negative, even though milk practically kills me and dust rips my nostrils apart.

A story came out not too long ago that says you shouldn't treat sinus infections with antibiotics, so just keep that in mind. It won't help at all unless it turns into a bacterial infection.
I've only had one sinus infection in the last two years. Netti pot helped.

Before going into remission, Imuran bothered my allergies though. Sometimes I had to take more medicine to calm them down. Now they're nonexistent.

Perhaps your immune system is still fighting back? Definitely see your GP to see if there's anything you can do. Or phone your GI. Perhaps a nurse (if he has one) can give you some advice.

You'd think if it's suppressing your system it would help with your allergies. Hope you get over this. You need a break.

Not on Remi, Having Sinus headaches on Humira.
similar drug. Going to tell GI next week. Need something to take for the pain.

LOL I have a backwards system. My body is so weird on how it reacts to things that my doctors say I give them gray hair.

I must be getting bacterial sinus infections? Because I had taken the Z-pack on both occasions and it cleared it up within a couple of days. The one in January was a doozy too.

As for the Netti pot....um that's a negative! I have a huge phobia of water. It took me years just to stick my whole head under a shower where the water covered my face. My phobia stems from almost drowning 3 times as a child - one time I had to be resuscitated. So just the thought of putting water up my sinuses terrifies me.

We have a place called the salt Room that just opened near me. They claim it helps with sinus infections. Something to try! Room is covered in salt. Suppose to be like 10x the amount of salt compare to the beach air. Iv'e heard it has helped some.

I apparently had a sinus infection for months earlier this year, but it was in back cavities or something so I didnt realize what was wrong. It was a relief to finally get rid of it, with antibiotics. The doc picked one that would be easy on the gut, just in case.
I think I have had more sinus issues since using Remicade, but it's been worth it!
