bleeding again

I have had UC for about 6 months. A month ago it flared so bad I was hospitalized for four days and got iv steroids and was released on 40mg of pred a day. The doc wanted to start remicade and I was very reluctant because I felt almost 100% within a few days of getting out of the hospital. I did take the first infusion a few weeks ago. Afterwards I decided I really wanted to be sure myself that I needed that drug since its such a serious drug and I was telling telltale good before I even took it. I cancelled my next infusion and told them I wanted to just taper the pred and see what happened, I am.hoping to keep it in check with diet. I've been feeling awesome except the other day I noticed a little blood on the tp, and a little increase in frequency. Then this morning I noticed a bit more blood on the tp but after the first bm, there's really been no blood. I'm considering calling and scheduling the next infusion but I really don't want to be on that drug. My question now is should I take more of it or wait and see if the couple times I saw blood were just little blips in the recovery process? Am I jumping the gun wanting to call them back already, should I give It a few more days and see what happens?

Have you tried any other meds besides Prednisone and Remicade?

I have been on apriso, mesalamine enemas, cortifoam, and nothing worked, not even the pred the first time around. I was initially diagnosed with mild proctitis which spread to full blown UC in a matter of a few months. So bad that I needed iv steroids like I said earlier. I apparently have a very resistant case.

Still tapering from pred but symptoms starting coming back a little stronger so I am going next week for my second infusion. Don't want to take any chances.
