Hey , got results back from GI.
Not going on 6-mp! I was so happy to hear biopsys neg for cancer, UC in all of colon still but mod/sever active only in lower sig and rectum. Sooo she ordered mega rectal enemas , OMG Steroid at bedtime and asa in am 2wks , steroid hs and asa am 1 week then steroid every other day then prn , also taking asacol , probiotics.I dont know if i can do this treatment as ordered. Seriously,

My anus is sooooo sore Im crying during administering them. I have lubed with hemmi oint and polysporin nothing helps then if ii have to poo cause i cant always retain YEEEOOOOWWWW! nono I guess it is better than 6-mp and oral pred. She also thinks I may have had it so long and it is burning itself out ... the UC that is. Only thing it may burn out my but hole with the treatment.Cat scan in am.

Oh Elle ~ I'm way new to this UC stuff; and don't understand all the abbreviations; meds & stuff; but I can so relate to your bumm being so darn sore! I hope your able to find something to give you relief........mine was so sore coming out of the hospital I could barely sit! Good luck on the CAT - I have one next Monday. Also glad the cancer biopsy was neg.

Vaseline... lots of it. I pooped 11 times yesterday and only once was it bloody. By bedtime, I could feel the hemorrhoids though. The tip of the enema hurt sooo much. I had to sink it in the Vaseline jar so it wouldn't be such a sharp poke in the butt. I'd recommended sitting on the toilet for a little while before using the enema though because you never know. I wasted a whole dose Sunday night because I pooped almost 20minutes after using the enema. It sucked :(

Use the enemas. I know your sore but they really will help immensely. If you think your wasting it since you have to go soon after using it. Only use half of the enema. That way if you do need to go afterwards you can use the other half. After a few nights that need may lessen and you can retain it for longer and longer. They can be really hard to retain if your gassy too. I only use them twice a week but if I'm gassy (from eating what I shouldn't LOL) then I wait another night or know that I might not keep it in overnight.

I think KY works better than vaseline as an enema lubricant. Hope you feel better soon!

I probably shouldn't laugh but I like your use of humour with such a delicate subject LOL. My latest episode they sat me waiting for 7 hours in hospital with UC and terrible constipation and back pain. When I eventually walked out in disgust, bleeding all over the floor from the line I ripped out, they refused to treat me. The UK NHS envy of the world. Thankfully I had private medical insurance.
Bum still broke sounds like a brass band every loo trip much to the envy of my co workers.

Had the CT scan today and the drinks are now making their way out of my digestive track. I may not be taking the retention enema tonight a Im having so many bms. Thanks for the support everyone, this is such a great place to be able to come and vent or just run things by people. I know I am not as bad as some on this site, I may post silly things sometimes but I never feel any judgement here. I hope everyone gets through whatever the tough thing is thats going on right now in there illness and we can be happy on the healthy good days!
