does anyone know the shelf life of Canasa? of Rowasa?

There should be an expiration date on the package.

     My GI doctor gave me some expired bottles of Rowasa, I suppose they were given back to the office from a patient who no longer had any use for them, however, the contents were discolored and I threw them out.

I work with a former pharmacist and he told me that for 99% of drugs, the expiration date does not matter. He said there are only a few drugs that really lose effectiveness after the expiration date.

I tend to be more concerned about liquids and expiration dates. With Rowasa I would use it for a little while after the exp date but not years. And if its discolored out it goes. Pills on the other hand I would take years later. I have pain meds that I take if needed and some of them are 3-4 years old. Still do the job.

Yes, that's really my issue, C anasa. While I'd like to stockpile Rowasa, I don't. I'm up to my ears, however, in Canasa. So that's my real issue. I just as soon use them even if they aren't 100 percent effective. You know how your mom said eat all your food, kids are starving in Africa. I feel that way about discarding meds. There are so many people that can't afford it and I can so I'd better use it and not waste it.
