So after doing a lot of research and reading many posts about LDN helping many people with Ulcerative colitis i decided i would go ahead and give it a shot. Since being diagnosed with pancolitis in April i have experienced minimal results with the doctor prescribed meds. Have tried asacol HD, lialda, prednisone, entocort. My doctor wants me to start imuran in a month if my symptoms don't improve but it something I'd rather stay away from as long as i can. So with many failed attempts of trying to find a doctor to prescribe the LDN i went ahead and ordered it from alldaychemist, the 50mg tabs. I know it needs to be diluted down to achieve the low dose and have watched the video on how to do so. From what i read on these posts it seems most people were able to get the naltrexone already in the low dose form from a doctor. My question is does anyone else use the diluted version and is it as effective as the prescribed LDN. Also, is there anything i should avoid once i start LDN such as alcohol, i don't currently drink right now since my symptoms are so bad but I'm sure I'll drink again at some point. Also, i started a strict dairy/gluten free diet as I've read it can speed up the effectiveness of LDN. Any other do's and don'ts or information i need to know while on LDN please let me know. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to cover as much as i could. Thanks everyone!!!

Congrats on getting the LDN.

Yes, I know of people who couldnt get the LDN prescribed by their docs and couldn't/weren't willing to pay mega buck$ for consultation by a holistic doc, and they got their LDN from alldaychemists in India, ordered it, made their own liquid LDN, and have had  success.

With LDN (regardless of its form, i.e. liquid, oral pills, transdermal, etc...) there are only 2 contra-indications: no alcohol and no opioids of any kind. 

Also, LDN is much more successful with a gluten, dairy, wheat free diet.

The reason for this is because the cell receptor site used for naltrexone or LDN is the same as the one that alcohol and opioids use, therefore they would each be competing for the same receptor site - and wouldn't work.

Good luck with the liquid LDN and do let us know how you make out with it.

moose, i've also found it impossible to get a doctor to prescribe me LDN. i dilute the 50 mg tabs with 50 ml of water and leave it in the fridge. it tastes REALLY bad so i usually drink it with a flavored beverage to wash the bad taste away. i just use a syringe and suck up 4.5 mg every night around 10:30 or 11 pm. just make sure you use distilled water and keep it in a container with a strong lid. my stepdad ended up bumping my one container of it and it spilled all over the floor.

also, i wanted to ask how quick your LDN came from alldaychemist? is it good quality? that's where i plan on ordering my next batch. i am a bit nervous though because i've heard that sites not on the VIPPS list can sell pills with fake or dangerous ingredients. only problem is that you need a prescription for all the sites on the VIPPS list.

i am on day 56 of LDN but i haven't noticed a difference in my UC symptoms yet. it has taken all my fevers away which is good since i am always burning up during flares.

insofla, i read that alcohol is fine to drink while on LDN and doesn't interact with it. at least that's what it said on the LDNscience website. i had some wine a few nights ago about 3 hrs before my LDN and didn't notice anything weird happening.

I know some people have reported no issues with alcohol + LDN, but I'm just telling you what Skip's had told me.

I guess an occassional alcoholic drink  might be ok?

But remember many beers contain gluten.

The only thing you need to avoid on LDN is opiates. Alcohol is fine, not an issue, drink up.
