There was a small thread back in 2010 4 or so comments, anyhow I just ran across the abstract looking for something else.
This really needs to be looked at again. It talks about the risk for IBD with high animal protein consumption,of course the real question for us is can we heal on a low animal protein/perhaps low sulfur diet.
This also ties in with heme iron being a potential problem. It also ties in with colits starting distally due perhaps
to protein fermentation in the colon.
If true then this would seem to fly in the face of Paleo or SCD diet,it would be interesting to see how many
have gone into remission on a low animal protein diet.
Of course it may be too late to fix IBD with this type of diet, something else such as bacteria may be driving the inflammation.
This was a big study in France so it should carry some weight.
I know there a few people here who do not eat animal protein and have IBD,I have to wonder if they also
have tried to eat low sulfur veggies.

Then we have this study which pretty much says figure out your own diet, what is good for one person might not be good for another.

Then again dietary heme is a problem.
