Time difference and taking meds

I posted earlier about traveling with UC, thanks for the insight and advice. Now, my next question is what if any problems might arise by taking my meds at a different time? I will be 3 hrs behind my usual time. I usually take my meds at 6 in the morning, which will only be 3 in the morning when I am away. My primary doctor said to take my meds at 3am, but my GI disagrees, he thinks it shouldn't matter as long as I take them. Thanks for any help.

I don't think you should interrupt your sleep to take meds. Three hours shouldn't make a lot of difference. That being said, you could try to gradually move them ahead, like the first day take them at 4 or 4:30, then the next day at 5, etc.

When I traveled to a different time zone, 3 hr difference as well, I took them right after breakfast as I normally do. I didn't notice any changes.

I've never had a specific schedule except morning/night to take meds. In other words, I rarely take them at the same time every day/night.

Never been a problem.

The only time I'd stick to a schedule would be for antibiotics.

Take them how you live your days when travelling.
