Hi aguywithuc,
i was 360 lbs two + yrs ago, i have lost 170 lbs since then and now an fighting to keep weight on ( who woulda thought).
Wow you should reach around pat yourself on the back man holy cow what a recovery that weight was going to kill you and you lost 170 lbs.
My hat is off to you sir.
My medical regime well the regulars here would tell its really confusing.
Deadly flare in 2010 that resulted in 100mg prednisone per day and when it failed to work I switched to
-Mebeverine ( librax is what american doctors give you I buy canadian Mebeverine )
-Sulfasalazine
-Imodium
My doctor was cool and he knew I was headed back to hospital as after respectfully listening to him I made my case for med switch to Sulfasalazine and he ordered librax. Blood stopped that night. But you cannot stop the prednisone without stepping it down so while dropping that I took a stroke. Sagittal Sinus Thrombosis can happen to you if you have UC. I was paralyzed and in the ICU.
All that sh!t is gone and over with.
I go med-free, did this for 2 years but every single day I take Turmeric.
Now this summer I bought a huge expensive home, I worked my butt off selling my old home, my mom began to have dementia from too many pain pills and I cannot cope with the kind of stress that involves other people. Right after we moved here they built a home on each side of this one and 2 across the street to close out the hood. That went on 7:00 am until 8:00 pm and the constant framing and hammering was driving me nuts.
Then came the record heat in colorado and I flared.
So I went back to what worked before ( like we all do ) sulfasazine, librax, imodium, mebeverine.
But always always zero-carb ( as close as i can ) and salmon, filet mignon, salmon yogurt filet mignon and if you get tired of that have some more salmon :)
Edit : Forgot to mention the flare was so out of control with hourly urgency that I began chowing the F-Factor bars I already consume their ingredients individually but the blend is perfect and simple and allowed and me to regain control from the flare which was trying to hospitalize me - in fighting back I shut down the flare instead of it shutting me down.
FU flare.
