I am trying to start to search for new uc specialist to try help me before my uc kills me .I have pancolitis that has consumed my life for the past five years .lost a great job shortly after first flare due to not being able to work.now I have the greatest job of my life and fixing to lose it due to being absent from work .I feel my docs are not helping/carrying for me/my sitituation with uc and the way its affecting me. Looking to find a doc in upstate south Carolina or south Charlotte area . ,

What part of South Carolina are you from?  I'm from SC.

I would recommend Dr. Alan Lieberman. He is in Charleston SC.

Hi Jody,

I'm from Bennettsville. The reason I asked was because I've had  three different GI doctors.  The first one was from Goldsboro and she went back and the second one was from Charlotte.  I'm not sure if he went back, because he filled in once my first GI left.  His name was Dr. Jerry A. Jones.

I am from Chester and use Dr Richardson at Digestive Disease in Rock Hill. Who is your current doc?

If you're really bad I would consider making an appt at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. www.mayoclinic.com/
I was able to get an appt with no problem as my symptoms were really bad. They will give you a full workup and give recommendations to your doctor.

For local docs I always check them out on www.vitals.com/ or www.healthgrades.com/
You can also check out CCFA - Find a Doctor: www.ccfa.org/living-with-crohns-colitis/find-a-doctor/

Also take in a sheet of questions and interview your GI to see if you'll a good fit. It's not like going to a regular family doc for a cold!

Would downtown Charlotte be too far to drive? I see Dr Roddey at Charlotte Gastro. Is large practice with several offices.
