Serotonin increases with inflammation

Since my recent experience with SSRI's (3 different ones) causing me to flare I did some research on the effects of serotonin on UC. Basically what the study says is that when there is active inflammation that the cells which produce serotonin are increased in number therefore nearly doubling the amount of serotonin in the body. The cells which soak the serotonin up may or may not be affected by the inflammation. Ultimately, serotonin levels are close to doubled when there is an active inflammation. What an SSRI does is block the reuptake of serotonin to cause higher levels to be available for the brain. I know a lot (if not the majority) of UC patients respond well to SSRI's but in my case I don't. Just wondering if the increase of serotonin in my body causes my body to respond by trying to do it's version of naturally higher levels-inflammation??? Anyone with more experience reading these studies have an opinion?

I tried Celexa, Zoloft, and Lexapro. All low doses to begin with that never got increased. Thanks for your reply!
