I did an oral fecal transplant back in February. While I was able to drop my Pred to 10mg, my stools still weren't as awesome as my donor's. I wasn't sure what was missing but I may have stumbled onto the solution. Hopefully this could help other people who haven't improved after a fecal transplant.

a week ago I had to go into the ER to diagnose abdominal pains and nausea. A CT scan revealed an inflamed gallbladder - probably gallstones. I had gallstones back in 2004 and flushed enough out to relieve the pain. It also happened to flush out a pair of benign polyps as confirmed by me (watched them whirl down the toilet) and by my next CT scan.
In case you aren't familiar with a gallbladder flush, you drink some epsom salts, wait a few hours then drink a grapefruit juice/olive oil cocktail and go to sleep. The next morning you eat something greasy and then watch all the nasty gunk come flying out your backside. I've lost track of how many times I've flushed for a colonoscopy but I've never seen stuff like what I saw that morning - green pebbles, brown sand and more!
That was just two days ago and my stools have suddenly become almost rock hard, they're easily passed and require little or no toilet paper.
I suspect much like your appendix, your gallbladder can host all sorts of bacteria. Once I evicted the bass turds, the good bacteria from my donor could finally take hold and TA-DA!
