Well, my accidents began many years ago after gallbladder surgery which resulted in an intolerance to fats and diagnoses with IBS--long before the IBD and diverticular disease. They were so frequent my kids (who are grown now) would be late to ballgames if we had to travel far! Immodium was a regular back then--that was before being instructed to refrain from using it because it became too harsh for my system. The anti-reflux meds of the 90's, IMO, brought on the frequency as did the gallbladder surgery. Never could I hold it.
Things changed as my system digressed to new ills of colitis. Still have accidents from time to time, but like Andrina, I try to always be prepared. My car trunk always has a little makeup bag with Depends / clean up pads & essentials just in case. I may go months without needing it but when I do, it's there.
