Bear:I have not started on this approach yet,so dont know for sure.
But if you read the thread material about 900 mg pantethine,Niacin it just says take a lot.
I did Niacin in the past just got the flush at 1000 mg for a few days then no effect on UC that I remember, but it looks good to take, inorder to ward off colon cancer.
The above info on the CoA path being blocked is rather limited, but trying to bypass the blockage. This is all in the hopes of feeding the colon cells better.
I have been researching IBD for the past 30 or so years,
in hopes that some minutea of info has been glossed over by the doc's and this info can put us into remission.
If you look at my other thread on beta oxidation inhibitors in the diet you will see what I mean by
minutea type info. Something happened after 1900
to start the increase in IBD around the 1920's,and antibiotics use was not wide and only a few were around, that's one down perhaps. There are of course a million other changes in diet, and chemical use, chlorination, pastureization, refrigeration, canning,
wesson oil 1899,crisco 1911,bromanated flour 1914 or so,can go on and on. Perhaps a new bacteria,MAP
heavy metals, influx of immigrants that are predisposed to IBD.
