VSL#3DS

I saw a new GI who I was not too thrilled with.  However she did give me a prescription for VSL#3DS.  My health plan will not pay for it.  My pharmacy said it would cost me $658.00.  My jaw dropped.  Does anyone know where I could get it cheaper?????  I could transfer my prescription.

I purchased one box of VSL#3 DS at Costco pharmcy for around $110.  It was way cheaper than the other pharmacies that I checked with by ~$50. 

It is my understanding that to get DS a prescription is required, so if you can get DS without a prescription for $94 per box, consider yourself lucky because that's a steal!

That's probably for several months worth. I buy VSL#3 directly from their website (vsl3.com) and I get the capsules. What's in the capsules is the same as what's in the packets, it's just the packets are more potent.

From their website it's about $50 for a month supply of capsules (if you're only taking 2 a day).

VSL#3 Double strength apparently needs a prescription and can sometimes be covered by insurance. Regular VSL#3 doesn't need a prescription and is never covered by insurance. It does need to be refrigerated and should be shipped in a styrofoam container with some kind of refrigerated packet. It can be at room temperature for a short few days but the longer it isn't and the hotter it gets, the bacteria in it start to die off and then it doesn't do what it is supposed to do.
