bloody mucus

 Should I be concerned. Every time I have a bowel movement(once a day) I can see little bit of blood tainted mucus. My colonoscopy about 6 months ago was normal , biopsy from rectum normal as well. This was happening around the colonoscopy time as well was suprized to be told I am in remission when I thought I was flaring. The Dr. said I had internal hemrroids. I am not constipated. Should I just not worry and assume its coming from the hemrroids. Don't have a follow up appointment until December.   Thank you 

No other symptoms. If I wasn't looking wouldn't even know it was happening.

If you are not having other issues but the occasional blood, than more than likely it's from the hems. I usually just go by how I feel, if I feel good but have the occasional mild blood than I know it's from my hems. However, keep an eye on it and if it gets worse you should contact your doctor.

I agree with Sherry but something about your post was a little confusing to me. It was when you said you were surprised to be told you were in remission when you thought you were flaring. Somehow that has me shaking my head.

garyloiseville-I was originally diagnosed with proctitis,blood being my only symptom,still is my only symptom 9 years later,so when I see the little bit of blood in the mucus is what made me think I was in a flare.

Is the blood around the stool?

I would suggest you call the doc and see if he can take a look to confirm what it is. He should then prescribe you appropriate medications if it is hemmies.

Quincy-no its not around the stool,its like a little bit of bloody mucus stuck on one side,I did have two episodes this year that it was around the stool though.Usually the first couple of inches. Sorry about description!

She is on mat leave ,earliest I can get in is December,unless I am experiencing bad symptoms ,is what I was told.

So, she would have another doc who can take her patients, right?

Are you still using the salofalk supps?

I am still using the supps. but not as consistently as I should,sometimes they make the mucus worst.

At first the secretary said I couldn't get in well into 2013,because of the mat leave ,than she said she had an opening in December,maybe it's a different GI in December,She was quite confusing. This is a new Gi ,I have only met her briefly once to set up the colonoscopy and than for the procedure in the hospital .
