Anyone benefit from upping Remicade dosage?

Hi all! So remicade was working for me the first few months. I started to flare again mid July. I saw my GI and had a colonoscopy the first week of August. The proctitis was still flaring so we bumped my remicade infusions to every 6 weeks (from 8 weeks). I felt better for about 2 1/2-3 weeks but now I'm back to blood, urgency and gas/mucus.

I am on the lower dose of remicade. Did anyone benefit from upping remicade dosage? I guess that is the next step for me. Otherwise it is back in the hospital for IV pred. I seems to respond quickly to high doses of pred. I have an appt w/ GI Sept. 11.

I have already tried humira w/ little improvement. I'm doing rectal meds (alternating canasa and cortifoam). My inflammation is at 19cm so not doing enemas as I was worried they will bypass the affected area.

Anyway just looking for some thoughts! I'm not ready for surgery but definitely feeling out of options.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. I am also on the lower dosage of remicade every six weeks, I used to go every 8 weeks but last summer I had a flare -up after 4 weeks that landed me in the hospital, and now since going every 6 weeks I feel fine (ish) , altough I still have some pains and sometimes a little bit of blood . I am wondering if it would be worth it to get the double dose too, so I would like to see what others have to say.

Earlier this summer I had a dose of 5mg/kg that did NOTHInG for my UC. Then I had 10 mg/kg and noticed a distinct improvement. I was also on 40 mgs of pred at the time so I'm not sure how much to attribute to what, but the improvement was the next day. The Remi was basically to get me to surgery o I can only tell you how the one dose went.
