Hi all,
Saw my naturopath last week & he has put me on an incredibly restrictive diet (no sugar, wheat, dairy, caffeine, corn, etc. even which fruits & veggies I can eat are restricted). I also am supposed to drink two shakes of MediClear per day. To be honest, I am worried that this will cause me to lose even more weight than I already have.
I'm wondering if there is even a point to starting this diet/detox while I am still at the 30mg of prednisone per day stage? How will I know what is actually making the difference?
Eliminating those possible trigger foods (sugar, wheat, dairy, caffeine, and corn) may help you out. Even though you are at 30mg of prednisone right now, you may experience different symptoms in the way that you normally would. The MediClear shake actually looks pretty good. High protein, low sugar, so thats all good.
Sugar is the most inflammatory food out there.
Wheat/gluten can wreak havoc on the digestive system, whether or not you were diagnosed with crohns, its just a good idea to test without it.
Corn is usually a source of GMO, studies were just released in Europe that GMOs may cause a lot of problems.
Caffeine dehydrates the cells and is sensitive to the colon regardless of healthy/diseased colon.
Dairy is another possible trigger food group, best to test it.
Hope this helps you. Sounds like your on a good track.
Can I ask you what made you decide to seek out treatment from a naturopathic doctor? :)
