6th remicade infusion?

I've been cleared for my 6th remicade session for next thursday.

My GI said I "may as well go for it".    My question is mainly aimed at folks who have previously been, or are currently on remi:  Is there much point in undergoing yet another infusion when the first 5 have had absolutely no (positive) effect?

Are there cases where it started to work after so many failed attempts?

Appreciate any input on this.

Ok first of all, for me, it works somewhat...but I'm on MAX dose baby! 10 mg/kg 640ml at every 6 weeks.

You probably aren't at max. CRANK that to max power do it at 6 weeks and it should do something lol.

I've never thought about the side effect potential before with the double dose. Interesting question.

I agree with your Doc that you may as well go for it. Is the next step surgery? You don't want to say "Maybe the GI was right - if only I had tried one more time?" I would wonder if a higher dose would work for you. I personally had 1 great infusion, 1 ok infusion, and then 1 bad infusion. I upped the dose and had 1 ok infusion. I figured it was losing it's effectiveness for me. But you've never seen improvements so maybe you just have never been given enough of the drug for you?
